Because the ending
should belong to him.
Ronaldo 2030 is an independent global fan movement asking Cristiano Ronaldo to keep the possibility of the 2030 World Cup open. We are not asking him to promise that he will play. We are asking him not to decide too soon that he never can.
Twenty years of more than football.
For more than twenty years, Cristiano Ronaldo has been part of football’s greatest moments. For millions of people, he has represented more than football.
He has represented:
- Discipline
- Ambition
- Resilience
- Sacrifice
- Longevity
- Belief
- The courage to continue
The possibility that his World Cup story had ended felt sudden and final.
This movement exists to send one respectful message: do not close the door unless you truly know the journey is complete.
Not just another World Cup.
Portugal will be one of the principal host countries of the 2030 tournament, alongside Spain and Morocco.
It could become:
- Ronaldo’s seventh World Cup
- A final World Cup chapter partly played at home
- A moment shared by several generations
- A farewell understood while it is happening
- One more extraordinary possibility
It may never happen. But the possibility itself is worth protecting.
- Ronaldo should decide his future in his own time
- His health and happiness matter
- Selection must depend on merit, fitness, form and the coach’s decision
- Fans have no right to demand a place for him
- Fans do have the right to express belief
- A future role may look different from previous tournaments
- Hope and respect can exist together
Because emotion does not last forever.
The feeling surrounding the end of a World Cup is immediate. The memories are still close. The sadness is still real. The possibility of a final goodbye is still being understood.
This is the moment for supporters to record what Ronaldo’s journey has meant to them—not years later, after those memories have begun to fade.
Why I started Ronaldo 2030.
I have supported Cristiano Ronaldo for more than twenty years. Like millions of people, I watched his journey become part of my own life.
I watched him rise. I watched him fall and return. I watched him prove people wrong again and again. I watched him show an entire generation what relentless commitment can look like.
When the 2026 World Cup ended, I felt heartbroken by the possibility that his World Cup story could end that way.
I know he owes us nothing. I know supporters do not have the right to demand more from someone who has already given so much.
But I also believe that if part of him still wants to try, he should know that millions of us still want to believe.
So I created Ronaldo 2030.
I began the message. The fans will build the movement.
Respect comes first.
This campaign will remain respectful, positive, independent, transparent, global, fan-led, and free from harassment and abuse.
If Ronaldo chooses to stop, we will respect him.
If he asks the campaign to stop, we will stop.
If he chooses to try again, we will stand with him.
